West Mercia Police are appealing for help to find the rightful owner of three stolen medals from the First World War that they have recovered.
The stolen items were recovered yesterday (Thursday 31st January) and officers arrested a 34 year old Northfield man on suspicion of burglary.
It is thought that the medals may have been stolen in a house burglary, somewhere in North Worcestershire, Birmingham or Staffordshire, some time before Wednesday 30th January.
Police think that the medals were issued to a Staffordshire officer who served in the Middlesex Regiment between 1915 and 1916.
- An Allied Victory Medal dated 1914/1919
- British War Medal dated 1914/1920
- Star dated 1914
If you recognise the items or believe you may know who they belong to, please call Detective Constable Mark Fletcher at West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident number 22/114516/18
