A West Heath youngster – and her Wychall Primary School mates – had a huge shock yesterday when Peter Andre popped into school!

Popular pupil Daisy-May Demetre looked stunned as the TV and music star told her she was the winner of this year’s Pride of Birmingham Child of Courage award!

Double amputee Daisy-May was born with a defect to her leg bones – the fibular bone was missing in one leg, and was very small in the other.

While still a baby, Daisy-May had both legs amputated below the knee but this hasn’t held her back with her amazing zest for life!

Daisy-May is super active, often at the gym with her dad, Alex.

The youngster is also a model and has achieved highly – appearing at London Fashion Week and recently becoming the face of popular high street fashion outlet, River Island.

Daisy-May will be receiving her award tonight (Tuesday 26th March) at the glittering Pride of Birmingham Award ceremony at the University of Birmingham. You can watch live on the Pride of Britain Facebook page.

Congratulations, Daisy-May! Enjoy your night!
