A Quinton man has been jailed after a police investigation exposed six months of sexual abuse of a young girl.

25 year old Tyrone Kirnon carried out a series of sex attacks against the girl, who was under 13 years of age.
In January 2018, the girl bravely came forward and was able to recount her traumatic experiences to specialist offers in the West Midlands Police public protection unit.
Following their investigation, Kirnon was convicted of eight sex offences – including rape and inciting sexual activity with a child – following a trial at Birmingham Crown Court.
Today, Kirnon was sentenced to 15 years in prison and placed on the sex offenders’ register for life (Thursday 18th July).
Detective Constable Adam McHugh, from the child abuse investigation team, said: “Kirnon was a sexual predator who carried out abuse against a young girl.
“It was down to her bravery and courage in coming forward that we were able to fully investigate his despicable crimes.
“Kirnon now faces many years behind bars and we hope this will provide some sense of justice to his victim.”
