The brand new Cofton Village Hall has now officially opened its doors.

The 4,000 sq ft state-of-the-art centre in Cofton Hackett provides space for local people to come together for activities, groups and events.

The building – on the corner of East Works Drive and Groveley Lane –  has been provided by Longbridge developers St Modwen, who worked closely with the Cofton Village Hall trustees on developing the facilities, which include: a kitchen, a 1,600 sq ft hall, an office, a meeting room, a community room and a sheltered external activity area.

The Trustees said: “We’re grateful to St. Modwen for providing this wonderful space and we’re very excited to be up and running so local residents can start enjoying groups, events and activities here.”

There will also be a Foundry Church service at 3pm on Sunday.

Residents are also invited to a MacmillanCoffee afternoon on Friday 27th between 3pm and 5pm.

Activities and events

Bookings are now being taken for classes, groups, functions and events at the village hall.

So far activities planned include Slimming World, musical theatre classes for youngsters, Dance Fit, pilates, yoga, indoor circuit training and more.

If you wish to use the facilities you can direct any booking enquiries by email to info@coftonvillagehall.org

Help needed

The Trustees said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to bring people together and offers a brilliant environment for a variety of different uses. We can’t do it without the help of the community though and we’re now looking for people who want to help run this excellent facility as part of a new management committee, as well as anyone who’d like to get involved with tasks to keep it running smoothly.”

As well as volunteers, the Trust is still raising money to fully equip the hall and trustees are working hard to secure grants, in addition to organising community fundraising activities.
