A magical day was had by all at Headway’s first Halloween Fun Run despite some extremely muddy conditions.

The event, held on Sunday (27 October) in Cofton Park, attracted 150 participants, with the majority dressing up in some amazing Halloween-themed costumes.

A week of heavy rain in the run up to the event meant the course was more of a challenge than planned, but spirits weren’t dampened and everyone finished to claim their pumpkin medal and Trick or Treat goody bag.

Prizes

Prizes for best outfits were awarded to the Young family (left) and to Danielle and Chris Anthony (centre) who pushed their baby daughter Gwen around the course in her buggy. Sixteen-year-old Jamie Cooper (right), who lives just near Cofton Park, also received an award for finishing first.

Julie Wedgbury, Fundraising Manager at Rubery based Headway Birmingham & Solihull, said: “Choosing a winner wasn’t easy, as there were so many great costumes on display. We would like to thank everyone for their efforts and for supporting our very first Halloween run.”

She also thanked Sainsbury’s Longbridge, Spar and Farmfoods for donating water or vouchers to get prizes for the goody bags and those who helped with the Halloween props along the course.

All proceeds from the event will go directly towards Headway’s local services, helping improve life for those affected by brain injury. For more information, visit www.headway-bs.org.uk/events, call 07483 173877 or email fundraising@headway-bs.org.uk
