A burglar was caught with more than just wet feet after trying to out smart a police dog by jumping in a stream in the early hours of this morning (Thursday 5th December).
West Midlands Police were called after a Mini Clubman was taken from a driveway in Bournville.
Minutes after the theft, the car collided in Merritts Brook Lane, Northfield.
Officers and police dogs were sent to search a wooded area after a man was seen running away.
PD Captain followed his nose and quickly traced and detained the offender who was found trying to hide underwater in a brook.
The 17 year old was arrested on suspicion of burglary, as well as two unconnected robberies.
