West Midlands Police arrested a 34 year old man – wanted in connection with a suspected deliberate house fire in Northfield – at a property in Rubery last night (Thursday 16th April)
The man was wanted for questioning over an arson attack on a house in Farren Road on Monday (13th April). A woman and two children who had been inside the property thankfully escaped uninjured before the fire was started and ripped through the property.
A 41-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender – both remain in police custody.
Inspector Dave Sproson said: “We have had a team of officers working around the clock dedicated to tracing the suspect.
“Thankfully nobody was seriously injured but the fire destroyed the property and it could have turned out a lot worse.
“The family have since been safeguarded and are being kept up to date with this latest development.”
