Management at Buzz Bingo in Great Park, Rubery have announced that the popular venue is not moving, despite reports of a planning application to change the site into a gymnastics centre.
News of the planning application to Birmingham City Council planners by Selly Oak based Revolution Gymnastics club was met with a mixed reaction locally.
While many said they would welcome the family fitness venue, customers of the bingo hall were devastated at the prospect of losing their leisure activity, and staff members were concerned for their jobs.
However, on Sunday, Buzz Great Park General Manager Anthony Riddell made the announcement via the venue’s Facebook page that the company had managed to negotiate a new lease with the property owners, saying: “WE ARE NOT MOVING, WE ARE STAYING PUT!”
The news will come as a great relief to many Buzz Bingo regulars who are eagerly awaiting its reopening as COVID-19 restrictions relax.

Just wanted to take this opportunity to address any customers concerns that have been going around on line in relation to the venue that is currently occupied by us & the rumour that we are leaving, … well I can say with great happiness that we have secured an agreement and will continue to be based in our current venue in Rubery, in short – WE ARE NOT MOVING, WE ARE STAYING PUT
If anyone has any questions on this please feel free to message our Facebook page.
Just wanted to add a MASSIVE THANK YOU to all of the staff & customers that have continued to support us not just through this crazy time but throughout the many years.
