A Skills Show and Jobs Fair is to return to the Frankley area this weekend, bringing new opportunites in employment and training to local residents.

Employers and skills providers from across the region will be represented at the event on Sunday (26th September) at the Hollymoor Centre, hosted by Cllr Simon Morrall (Con, Frankley Great Park) alongside West Midlands Mayor Andy Street and Gary Sambrook MP (Con, Birmingham Northfield).

There will be providers from many different vocations, including: Automotive, Art and Design, Athletics, Childcare, Construction, Business, Beauty Therapy, Fashion, Photography, Make Up, Hospitality, Hairdressing, Food, Science, Sport, Football, Engineering, Electrics, Game Development, IT, Music, Film Production, Media, Journalism, Dance, Psychology, Police, Fire, Paramedics, Nursing, Teaching and the Armed Forces.

There will also be a jobs wall, so if you are looking for gainful employment, pop along, as this can be used on your job search at the local job centre.

The free event is open to all, with Cllr Morrall inviting residents to come and “find your future”.

He said: “I am very excited to be able to bring back another Skills Show and Jobs Fair in Frankley, as we couldn’t do one last year due to Covid. I am always banging on at City Council about the need to market the opportunities in our great city better and local skills shows are a great way to do this.

“The last one in 2019 was hosted at Baalam Wood Academy and just seeing young people travel to an event like this on a cold snowy Sunday re-ignited what I’ve been saying for years. That there are people living on estates with ambition and talents that we simply aren’t tapping into and the big challenge is reaching more people like this to let them know that they really can succeed in life, regardless of their circumstances or background!”

EVENT DETAILS:

WHEN: 10am – 3pm Sunday 26th September 2021
WHERE: Hollymoor Centre, Manor Park Grove, Northfield B31 5ER
WHO: All welcome
