A 33-year-old man has been jailed for his involvement in a double stabbing at a Northfield night club in 2019.

Two men were stabbed and a third suffered a serious head injury during a disorder at Medley’s night club in Bristol Road South on Saturday 9th March 2019.

CCTV footage from the venue showed Bartley Green man Cory Dixon holding a knife before one of his victims fell to the floor and the second was stabbed during the melee.

Three men were taken to hospital for treatment before being discharged.

West Midlands Police issued a social media appeal to trace Dixon and an accomplice in October and they were later charged in connection with the incident.

Dixon was charged with possession of a knife in a public place, violent disorder and two counts of wounding with intent.

He appeared at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday (29 July) and was sentenced to spend nine years in prison before being released on license for three years.

He was also ordered to pay a £170 victim surcharge fee.

DC Darren Lennox, from Force CID, said: “I’m pleased that we’ve been able to put Dixon behind bars and prevent anyone else from being attacked in such a violent way.

“I hope this sentence shows how seriously we take violent crimes and sends a strong message that this behaviour will not be tolerated.”

36-year-old Ashley Holder, from Northfield, received a community order and three other people are due to appear at court at a later date.
