Local West Mercia Police officers are appealing for information after off-road bikers smashed down a number of gates to illegally access areas of Waseleys Country Park on Tuesday (4th October).

There have been a spate of incidents in the country park involving the anti-social use of motorcycles recently, some including criminal damage.

This latest incident happened at around 4pm on Tuesday, when two riders were seen around the picnic area close to the car park on Gannow Green Lane. Three wooden gates were damaged, leading some cattle that graze the country park to roam free from the areas they were contained in.

On Wednesday, Worcestershire County Council’s (WCC) Countryside Sites team posted on the Waseley Hills Country Park Facebook page to warn park users and ask for witnesses. They said: “With several field gates damaged due to a recent spate of vandalism, the cows temporarily have access to more fields than is usual. There are cattle signs near the kissing gates of all the affected fields and we thank you for your understanding during this challenging time.”

Anyone with any information about the offenders is asked to call West Mercia Police, quoting crime reference 22/99428/22.

In addition, if you witness any further antisocial behaviour or criminal damage, please call 999 while the crime is in progress. The Waseley Hills team have requested that any further incidents be passed on to them with the police incident log number by calling 01562 710025.
