A woman has sadly died after falling from a multi-storey car park in Northfield town centre this afternoon (Wednesday 23rd November).
Police have confirmed her death is not being treated as suspicious and her family have been informed.
The incident in Bristol Road South close to the Church Road junction happened just after midday. Roads were closed by police.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed that paramedics arrived to find the woman with very serious injuries. Despite their best efforts, she was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The spokeswoman said: “We were called to an incident on Bristol Road South, Northfield at 12.11pm. Two ambulances, two paramedic officers, the West Midlands care team, the MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic attended. On arrival, crews found a woman with very serious injuries.
“Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of ambulance staff, it wasn’t possible to save her and she was confirmed deceased at the scene.”
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “We were called at 12.08pm today (23 November) after a woman fell from the car park at Nationwide Building Society in Northfield.
“The woman sustained head injuries in the fall and was sadly confirmed dead at 12.46pm.
“Her next-of-kin have been informed and the death is not being treated as suspicious.”
