Every year, thousands gather on the picturesque Bournville Green for a moving Christmas tradition observed by countless families across south west Birmingham for over 40 years.

After streaming online during COVID-19 restrictions, families were once again able to enjoy Carols on The Green in person on Christmas Eve (24th December 2022).
Hosted by Churches Together in B30 (CTB30), the event is led by Bournville Parish Church, St Francis of Assisi and for the past few years it has been co-led by the minster of Rowheath Pavilion, too. Other members of CTB30 take part by doing readings and prayers.
Carols on the Green supports six local charities with donation collection buckets at the event supported by Bournville Village Council and church members.
This year the event raised over £3000 which has now been gifted to:
- the much needed B30 Foodbank;
- Northfield based advocacy organisation CASBA;
- homelessness prevention and debt support charity The Project Birmingham, based in Rednal;
- Restore refugee support;
- St Mary’s Hospice;
- Acorns Children’s Hospice
Well done to all involved – looking forward to the 2023 event already!
