Sainsbury’s Northfield want to thank staff and customers after the store raised a massive £16,000 for Comic Relief this year!

There were a variety of fundraising events during the weeks leading up to Red Nose Day on Friday 24th March: staff wearing silly wigs and disguises in store, a quiz night, a tombola and more.

Staff also took place in a cake competition which was judged by MP for Northfield Richard Burden. The sweet creation from café manager Tina Preston, who dressed as Cruella Da Ville from 101 Dalmatians on the day, came out on top.

The store manager said: Our customers and colleagues are always keen to raise as much as possible for Red Nose Day and come up with lots of fun and creative ways to do it. I’m really proud that we’ve been able to contribute to the impressive figure donated from Sainsbury’s to Comic Relief.”

On Red Nose Day, Sainsbury’s announced it had raised £11.6 million for the charity with more funds still to be collected.

Well done to all who supported Comic Relief this year!
