West Midlands Police are investigating what is believed to be a murder-suicide after the bodies of a husband and wife – both believed to be in their 30s – were found in two separate locations in the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 26th September).
Police first attended an address in Streetly just after midnight after ambulance crews discovered a man’s body.
A short time later, the body of a woman was found at a home in Cofton Park Close, Rednal.
A police spokesperson said: “At this early stage it’s understood the woman was murdered before the man took his own life in the garden of the Streetly address.”
Both scenes remained cordoned off while forensic investigations continue and post mortems on the couple will take place in due course.
Police are not currently seeking anyone else in connection with the deaths.
