Female cyclist sadly killed in Edgbaston collision

West Midlands Police are today appealing for information after a female cyclist was killed when she was involved in a collision with a lorry yesterday in Edgbaston (Monday 9th October). 

The accident happened at around 4pm at the junction of Edgbaston Road and Pershore Road.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the 32 year old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the lorry is helping police with their investigations into the accident.

Roads around the site of the accident were closed for some hours while investigators thoroughly examined the scene.

Sergeant Alan Wood, from the West Midlands Police Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This investigation is in its early stages and we are trying to establish exactly what happened. We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision who hasn’t yet spoken to us to get in touch.

“Our thoughts are with the family of the woman who lost her life. We have specialist officers are supporting them at this difficult time.”
