WATCH the moment a Longbridge dog, missing since 2013, is reunited with his owner after almost five years!

Charlie was originally posted as missing in May 2013 on K9 Search UK’s lost dogs page on Facebook.

When a dog ran into a Shard End home on Saturday (3rd February) while the householder was putting out rubbish, he was taken along to local Lodge Vets.

With the contact details on his microchip now being out of date, phone numbers were coming up dead.

Eagle eyed K9 Search UK followers Rachel and Terry spotted the lost post and contacted K9 Search UK. After recognising the dog, K9 Search founder Jennie Dhanjal and Terry scoured past posts to find the match!

With all previous contact details now being obsolete, K9 Search arranged for volunteer James Roberts to go to Charlie’s home address and make contact with his owner, telling her he had potentially been found.

On Sunday, Charlie’s owner Donna visited Lodge Vets to see if her dog was waiting there for her. As you can see, he was certainly pleased to see her!

K9 Search UK founder, Jennie Dhanjal said: “We are all overjoyed that Charlie has been reunited with his family after 5 years of waiting, not knowing if Charlie was alive or dead.

“Please everyone, if you find a stray dog do the right thing – contact the area dog warden and K9 Search UK.”

WELL DONE to K9 Search UK and ALL involved! Welcome home, Charlie!
