A fourth man has been arrested in connection shots fired at a home in a quiet Rubery cul-de-sac in December.
Based on intelligence, West Midlands Police carried out a warrant in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday 7th February), with armed police forcing entry into a home in Maypole Close, Maypole.
A 30 year old man from Edgbaston was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence and car theft.
He is being questioned in relation to an incident were shots were fired at a window of a house in Lyall Gardens, off New Inns Lane, on 7th December.
An Audi Q5 found in Maypole Close on false plates − and understood to have been stolen in Nuneaton − was also recovered by police.
This is the fourth arrest as part of the investigation into the Lyall Gardens shooting.
- The day after the incident, a 22 year old man was arrested after being traced to a take-away in Stoke-on-Trent: he was released under investigation while enquiries continue.
- A father and son (48 and 25) were arrested on 24th January when armed police stopped a car in Bristol Street. The pair were released on police bail and will return for more police questioning at a later date.
