West Midlands Police have launched an appeal to help identify a young girl who was taken to hospital after being found wandering alone in Birmingham City Centre last week.
The girl – believed to be around 14 years old – was found in a distressed state in New Street just before 5pm on Wednesday 14th February.
She was taken to hospital where she remains under observation. She has been unable to communicate verbally but does make gestures with her hands.
Despite extensive police investigations, officers have not yet been able to identify who she is or where she is from.
Inspector Ben Woodall, from West Midlands Police, said: “We really need to know who this young lady is so we can make contact with her relatives or guardians.”
The teen is described as:
- Around 5ft tall
- Wearing a burgundy long-sleeved top
- Black leggings
- Blue slip on pumps with white polka dots
- Carrying a pink blanket and small toy dog
Anyone who knows anything about the girl is asked to call 101, quoting log 622 of 19 February.
