Police investigate after teen stabbed in the back in Rubery incident

West Midlands Police are investigating after a teenager was stabbed in the back in an incident in Rubery this morning (Friday 2nd March).

Officers were call to New Road in Rubery at around 10.30am after the incident which is believed to have taken place under the nearby Rubery bypass flyover.

A police spokesman said: “The attack is believed to have happened under a nearby flyover, when a group of around six people approached the 17-year-old.

“One stabbed the teenager, before the group made off towards McDonald’s on Bristol Road South.”

The spokesman said that the injuries sustained were not thought to be life-threatening.

The attacker is believed to be around 17 years old, skinny, with blonde or brown hair and wearing dark blue jeans.

At this early stage of investigation, officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen what happened or who has any information.
