An unexploded hand grenade – believed to have been from WWII – found in a Northfield home has been safely dealt with by a bomb disposal unit this afternoon (Tuesday 3rd April).
West Midlands Police confirmed that they were called at around 11.45am, after the device was discovered during a house clearance at a home in South Road.
A spokesman said: “Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) have attended and are taking the device away for safe destruction. It has not been necessary to evacuate neighbouring properties.”
There are no suspicious circumstances around the discovery.
