Boy, 17, arrested in connection with stabbing in Rednal earlier this month

A 17 year old boy has been arrested by West Midlands Police today (Monday 23rd April) in relation to an assault and stabbing which took place in Rednal earlier this month. 

A man in his 30s was attacked in his car in Toll House Road by a group of males brandishing hammers and baseball bats at around 8.45pm on the evening of Sunday 8th April.

Shortly afterwards, the man was picked up by an ambulance crew at another south Birmingham location, where it was found he had suffered a stab wound. He has since been released from hospital.

The teenager was apprehended by local officers in Knowle Close, off Lickey Road at around 11.25am today.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police chased the suspect on foot for a short distance before the arrest, and he remains in custody this afternoon on suspicion of wounding.”
