West Midlands Police officers, including air support, were unable to locate a man who made off from paramedics after being injured in an incident in Frankley last night (Friday 4th May).
Officers are still keen to make contact with the man to check on his wellbeing.
Paramedics from West Midlands Ambulance Service came across an unconscious man lying in Boleyn Road, close to the Ormond Road junction, at around 10pm.
They stopped to tend to the man. However, when the man regained consciousness he left the scene on foot towards Gannow Manor Crescent.
Police were called and a full search of the area was carried out, with support from a National Police Air Support (NPAS) helicopter. However, despite their efforts, officers were unable to locate the injured man.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “It’s understood the man had earlier been involved in an altercation with another man before being assaulted.”
He said that checks had been made with all hospitals in the region in an attempt to find the man, who has not contacted and reported the incident to the police.
Police are keen to locate the man to check on his welfare and enquiries are ongoing.
