The RSPCA are appealing for information after the badly decomposed body of a dog was found dumped in parkland in Bartley Green this week.

The discovery was made on Monday (28th May) in Lye Avenue and police officers placed police tape around the dog until an RSPCA inspector could attend.

An RSPCA spokesperson said: “It’s very concerning to think that somebody has dumped the body of a dog in a park and it must have been very upsetting for local people to see.

“Sadly, the dog’s body was too decomposed to be identified and scanned for a microchip, so at the moment we know very little about how he or she died.”

Birmingham City Council has been requested to remove the body.

Anyone with any information on the dog or its owner is asked to call the RSPCA on 0300 123 8018
