The summer festival season kicks off across south west Birmingham this weekend with three amazing community family events on offer – and its going to be a scorcher with the hot, sunny weather set to continue!
Frankley Carnival 2018: 11.30am – 5pm Saturday 30th June
The fun begins at 11.30am on Saturday 30th June with Frankley Carnival which takes place on the green space by the medical centre in New Street.
There’ll be music and entertainment overseen by Jammersely Entertainment, including a performance by singer songwriter Esther Turner.
With arena events, the annual Franklic Games, stalls, inflatables, rides, food, drink and more, this sunny Saturday event looks set to be a great one. FULL DETAILS
Bournville Village Festival 2018: 1.30 – 10.30pm Saturday 30th June
Also on Saturday 30th June, the annual Bournville Village Festival takes place on the sports ground by the chocolate factory on Linden Road.
With an entry fee of £4 for adults (under 12s free), there’s a Funfair, Craft Market, arena acts, stalls, food, ice cream and other treats.
Local children take part in the traditional Maypole Dance and its all topped off with a Grand Firework display later in the evening. FULL DETAILS
Harborne Family Carnival 2018: Welcome to the Jungle: 9.30am – 5.30pm Sunday 1st July
The Harborne Carnival celebrates its 21st Anniversary this year on 1st July. The Carnival is now the second largest street carnival in the UK after Notting Hill and attracts over 70,000 people. This is a million miles from its humble beginnings as a small local fete back in 1998.
The Jungle themed event will include a street parade, live music, fun fair, carnival queen, entertainment, arts & crafts, stalls, dancing, food and more FULL DETAILS

Northfield Carnival 2018: 12 – 5pm Saturday 7th July
Northfield’s annual Carnival event returns to Victoria Common with arena acts overseen by Moonlighting Roadshow, rides, inflatables, stalls, food, arts village, activities, and more!
Arena events include: Moonlighting Roadshow, Bob Hogg’s Sheepdogs and Ducks, Birmingham Youth Theatre, Night Cyphers Street Dance Crew, Khamzin Belly Dance, Elite Academy of Dance and Gymnastics, Brumvik Viking Reenactment, Northfield Caledonia Pipe and Drums, Fusion Gymnastics and Birmingham Rock School.
Outside the arena there is a Viking encampment, a birds of prey display, arts village with Northfield Arts Forum, an afternoon tea tent, rides, inflatables, stalls, food and more. FULL DETAILS
CoCoMad 2018 @ Cotteridge Park: 12-7pm Saturday 7th July
CoCoMad is back for its 22nd year and although its not been possible to have a parade this year, they are more than making up for it!
This year will instead see a Grand Opening Ceremony involving Birmingham Opera and CircusMash introducing Cirqaville, celebrating 250 years of the circus! With performances, circus pop-ups, workshops, installations and surprises!
Take a little bit of circus, live music, arts, dance, science, activities and more to behold and participate in, throw in the some children’s activities, inflatables etc and a little bit of street food and drink and you’ll see CoCoMad really does have something for everyone! FULL DETAILS
Halesowen Carnival and Music Festival 2018: 12-8pm Saturday 7th July
Taking place in Highfields Park, there are 3 live music stages, market stalls, a fair, a Food & Drink festival, dog show, inflatables, dance performances, a teddy bear picnic and more.

Weoley Festival 2018: 12-4pm Saturday 14th July
Once again, Weoley Festival brings a host of entertainment, animals, stalls, rides, inflatables, activities and more to Weoley Castle Square with its annual festival.
