Three people have been injured in a collision in Quinton this afternoon (Tuesday 7th August).
Emergency services were called at around 2.50pm after a car collided with a lamp-post in West Boulevard, close to Quinton Road West.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said that three people inside the car at the time of the accident were treated at the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed that two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the MERIT trauma doctor attended the scene.
She said: “We treated three patients in total. A woman in her 50s sustained a leg injury. She was given pain relief on scene, her injuries were dressed before she was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.”
A woman in her 40s suffered facial injuries, while a third woman in her 50s suffered no immediately apparent injuries. Both were taken to hospital for further assessment.
The West Midlands Police spokesman confirmed the road remained closed: “to allow Highways to remove the lamp-post and make the street safe for members of the public.” The road was full reopened at just before 5pm.
West Midlands Ambulance Service have been asked for a statement.
