A man has been arrested after a car sped the wrong way up a dual carriageway before hitting two cars and crashing into a garden wall in Northfield last night (Monday 15th October).
West Midlands Police officers spotted a car in Quarry Lane at around 11.30pm which they believed to have been involved in an earlier burglary in Reabrook Road.
The driver failed to stop for officers and, in a desperate attempt to evade capture, headed onto the wrong side of Bristol Road South, driving at speed up the dual carriageway -straight into oncoming traffic.
Two other vehicles were hit before the driver flipped the car and smashed into a garden wall, close to the Quarry Lane junction.
The two occupants were detained by officers, with one being taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A 22 year old man remains in police custody this morning after being arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving, and theft of a car.
