Police appeal after three teens robbed of mobile phones in Frankley

Police have stepped up patrols in Frankley and are appealing for info after three reported robberies on Friday night (30th November).

At around 7.30pm, two boys, aged 14 and 15, were walking through an alleyway at High Timbers, off Ormond Road, when they were approached by a group of youths who threatened them, forcing them to hand over a mobile phone and a portable speaker.

Around an hour later, a 14 year old boy was approached by a group of youths as he walked home through Prospero Close. He was also threatened and made to hand over his mobile phone.

Fortunately, none of the boys were injured, they were all very shaken by their ordeal.

A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said that enquiries were ongoing and appealed for anyone with any information to get in touch.

She said: “Officers are currently trawling CCTV footage in the area and are still in the process of taking statements from all three victims.

“Patrols have been stepped up in the area to offer reassurance to the local community.”
