A man was arrested in Bartley Green yesterday morning on suspicion of drug offences and breaching a gang injunction (Friday 1st February).

The 23 year old was arrested following a pre-planned operation, involving firearms officers, in Bigwood Drive just before midday.

The injunction meant the man was to stay out of large parts of Birmingham and not associate with others believed to be linked to criminal activity.

Inspector Dave Sanders, from West Midlands Police, said: “We take drugs offences seriously and this arrest comes on the back of community intelligence.

“An injunction is not sought lightly and anyone who fails to abide with the conditions faces arrest and the risk of being prosecuted.

“We need the community to help us to help them by being our eyes and ears and let us know about any suspicions they may have.”

Anyone with information on drugs and gangs in our communities is asked to contact West Midlands Police on Live Chat at www.west-midlands.police.uk (8am – midnight) or to call 101 any time. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or visit www.crimestoppers-uk.org
