Four men were arrested after an attempted burglary in Northfield in the early hours of this morning (Friday 1st March).
West Midlands Police officers responded to a 999 call to a report of men breaking into a house in Westhaven Drive, off Long Nuke Road, at just before 3.30am.
The men had snapped a lock on a porch door but were disturbed before getting through a second door.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “Our officers responded in a matter minutes and spotted a Vauxhall Corsa driving away from the scene; they tried to pull the car over in Harborne High Street but it sped away before crashing moments later.”
Three men – aged 18, 19 and 20 – were arrested at the scene. Another 18 year old man fled the scene. He was later arrested after attending hospital with injuries.
The Corsa is believed to have been stolen in August last year. A lock-knife was also found in the car.
All four were arrested on suspicion of burglary and remain in custody for questioning.
