From West Midlands Police:

Officers investigating an incident in Cock Hill Lane, Rubery, last month in which a woman fell from a tower block window, have charged a man with breaching a restraining order.

Police were called to the road just before 2am on 31 August where a 29-year-old woman was found with serious injuries after falling from the fifth floor; she was taken to hospital with critical injuries but her condition has since improved.

Darren Edwards, aged 22, of no fixed address was arrested in connection with the fall and yesterday (Monday 16 September) charged with breach of a restraining order.

Enquiries continue into how the woman came to fall from the building.

Edwards is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today (Tuesday 17 September).
