Man injured in Frankley shooting

West Midlands Police are investigating after a 23 year old man was injured in a shooting in Frankley late last night (Wednesday 16th October).

Officers were called to Mowbray Close at around 10pm. Holly Hill Road was closed between New Street and Windsor Close while officers investigated the scene.

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: “The victim was found with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening and taken to hospital where he remains this morning.”

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a shooting at 9.54pm with a patient on Holly Hill Road in the Rubery area of Birmingham.

“An ambulance, two paramedic officers and the MERIT Trauma doctor and critical care paramedic were sent to the scene.

“The man had received initial care from firearms police officers. Ambulance staff took over care and provided treatment at the scene before he was taken for further assessment and treatment at hospital.”
