A Kings Norton church yard was cordoned off by police this morning (Friday 13th November) after a restoration worker was sadly killed following a fall.
The 64 year old man was working on St Nicolas’ Church in The Green when he fell from height at around 11.30am. Police, paramedics and a West Midlands Airs Ambulance attended but, despite best efforts, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who had fallen from height. He was found to have suffered serious injuries and ambulance staff immediately began administering advanced life support.
“Unfortunately, despite their best efforts it became apparent nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead at the scene.”
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “We were called to reports of a man falling while working on a church in Pershore Road South, Kings Norton, at around 11.30am today (13 November).
”A 64-year-old man from Birmingham was sadly pronounced dead at the scene and his family have been informed.”
The spokesman added that the Health and Safety Executive have been informed and enquiries into the incident are continuing.
