West Midlands Police are appealing for information after a 60 year old pedestrian was left with serious injuries on Wednesday evening (9th December).

It is understood the man was struck by a Ford Focus at around 6pm as he crossed Bristol Road South, opposite the Shell garage in Northfield.

He suffered multiple fractures to his legs and face and is currently in a serious but stable condition in hospital.

The driver of the Ford, a 29 year old man, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving. He has since been released on bail, as investigations into the collision continue.

Detective Sergeant Richard Forrester, of Force CID, said: “This collision has left a man very seriously injured and we’re trying to establish exactly what happened.

“Bristol Road is busy at that time of the evening and we’d ask anyone who saw the incident or has any dash cam footage to get in touch with us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact West Midlands Police on Live Chat at www.west-midlands.police.uk (8am – midnight) or to call 101 any time. Please quote log number 3851 of 9 December.
