A private hire taxi driver escaped serious injury after thieves made off with his car in the early hours of Thursday morning (1st April).
Two male passengers stole the car — a white 2014 Toyota Auris — in Harvington Road, Weoley Castle, at around 1.15am.
A West Midlands Police spokeswoman said that the driver, a man in his 30s, jumped onto the bonnet of the car in an attempt to stop the thieves, but jumped off when they continued to drive away. Fortunately his injuries were not serious.
