Two people were taken to hospital after a car collided into the Poundland store in Longbridge town centre this morning (Wednesday 4th October).
The incident happened just after 11.30am. The male driver of the car suffered a suspected medical incident before colliding with a female pedestrian and smashing into the store front, coming to rest inside the shop.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman confirmed: “The driver of the car, a man, was treated for a suspected medical episode before being taken to […] Hospital. The pedestrian, a woman, was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to the same hospital.”
West Midlands Fire Service crews remained on scene to stabilise the building.
Poundland and neighbouring Barclays bank remained closed this afternoon.
