One of a pair of feline brothers – who went missing at different times over the last 10 months – has been reunited with his owners thanks to a vigilant B31 Voices reader and cat rescuer. However, the hunt for his sibling continues!

Readers may remember two lost cats we posted about back in February.

Smooth-haired Beavis had gone missing from his temporary home in Tessall Lane, Northfield. His brother, long haired and bushy tailed Butthead, had already disappeared back in July last year.

The brothers were being temporarily cared for by a friend of their owner, Michelle, while she and her family settled into a new home in Yorkshire.

Numerous appeals went out to find Beavis and Butthead but no sightings were reported.

Then, out of the blue, we received a call from the lovely Lin at The Animal House Rescue, asking for contact details for the boys’ owners.

Butthead at the Northfield garage he was found at

Butthead – missing for almost a year – had been spotted by an eagle-eyed volunteer who helps provide foster care for their cats!

‘Jason’ managed to get hold of Butthead, who appears to have been living in a mechanic’s garage in Northfield, and a microchip check confirmed his identity!

‘Jason’ has since reunited Butthead with his owners and he has moved up North to Yorkshire to be back with his family.

‘Jason’ said: “I’m so happy to be able to reunite him with his purrents after sooo long. He’s a very lucky boy!”

It was hoped that Beavis may be spotted nearby after somehow reuniting with his brother ‘in the wild’, but there have been no sightings so far.

Beavis is still missing

Owner Michelle said: “I’m so excited to get my baby back after 10 months. I just hope Beavis is found so he can join us in our new home too.”

Michelle has placed a donation to help ‘Jason’ provide food for the foster cats in their care.

If you think you may have seen Beavis, please get in touch, and let’s help complete this family reunion!
