A fire has devastated a mobile repair shop at a Rubery market – months after an electrical fire gutted the building.

Police and fire services are at the scene of the incident at M&D Mobile Solutions this morning.
It appears the shop was broken into at around midnight last night (Wednesday 17th May).
The mobile repair shop has sustained fire damage. The neighbouring florist shop has minimal smoke damage and continues to trade as normal. The cafe at the rear of the building is open as normal.
Market owner Ian Robinson said there appeared to be no damage to the main building.
A spokeswoman for West Mercia Police and Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that 6 fire appliances – 4 from HWFRS and 2 from West Midlands Fire Service –attended the fire in the early hours of this morning. Firefighters in breathing apparatus used hose reel jets and main jets to subdue the fire before accessing the roof space and adjacent buildings to check for spread.
The spokeswoman said: “Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service is now working with West Mercia Police to determine the cause of the fire. Police officers are currently at the scene to support this investigation and to ensure the safety of the local community and manage traffic.”
Many businesses were affected when an electrical fire gutted the building back in October last year.
The two self contained shops at the front of the market – Amy’s Floral Design & M&D Mobile Solutions – reopened quite quickly, having sustained less damage in the October fire. However, their businesses were further hit when thieves broke in through a skylight in February this year.
The cafe reopened and is now under new management.
