West Mercia Police have today confirmed that a woman – who was the victim of an attempted robbery in the Wast Hills area last week when she stopped to help a man lying in the road – sustained stab injuries during the incident.
‘Not life threatening’
The incident happened at around 3.20pm on Wednesday 17th May in Lea End Lane, near Hopwood, adjacent to Wast Hills Lane and the woman was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with injuries that were “not believed to be life threatening”.
Following a social media post by an individual claiming to know the victim – which was widely shared over this weekend – West Mercia Police have today released more information on the incident.
‘Man lying in road’
A force spokesman said: “A woman in her 30s was driving a red Renault Kadjar along Lea End Lane and stopped to assist a man lying in the road. Whilst getting out of the car she was assaulted by a second man but managed to drive away. The woman sustained stab injuries and was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. Her injuries are not life-threatening.”

The man in the road is described as:
- Well built
- Black hooded top
- Blue jeans
- White trainers
The second man is described as:
- White
- Heavy build
- Black top
- Black trousers
- May have been wearing black leather gloves.
