The Man on the Moon pub has honoured Midlands based fundraiser, Danny Ryan MBE , after the pub reopened as a new Sizzling Pub & Grill on Wednesday 8th November following an extensive remodel. The pub and its staff are planning a host of fundraising events and activities in the upcoming months, aiming to raise money and awareness in support of Danny and his fundraising efforts for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
The Kings Norton Sizzling Pub & Grill celebrated its reopening by inviting Danny to officially reopen the new look pub on Wednesday, making him guest of honour at a ceremonial ribbon cutting ceremony, whilst also pledging their support to his cause.
Located on Redditch Road, the refreshed Man on the Moon resumed serving guests after an extensive two-week refurbishment. Following a significant investment ten new jobs have been created for the local area.
Commenting on the pub’s new look, general manager, Nicholas Forder, said: “We’re so pleased at how brilliant the Man on the Moon Sizzling Pub looks following the refurbishment, and we were thrilled to have had Danny Ryan cut the ceremonial ribbon for us.
“The work Danny does to help support and raise funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital is fantastic, he is real credit to the community. We wanted to invite someone to come down and reopen the pub for us following our reopening, and we thought of no one better than Danny. He is such a passionate and driven person, and we wanted to do something that would honour him, but also support his great cause.
“Bringing the new look Sizzling Pub & Grill to Kings Norton is really exciting for the whole team. At Sizzling Pub & Grill, we want to offer good food and good value for all our guests, and we’re thrilled to be providing the area with a new dining destination that does that in a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere.

Following the refurbishment, the Man on the Moon will continue to look to support the local community with a calendar of fundraising initiatives throughout the year.
