West Midlands Fire Service responded with four appliances to a “smell of burning” in a Longbridge tower block this lunchtime (Tuesday 6th March).
Crews investigating the smell – reported on the third and fourth floors of the high rise block of flats – found that flooding in a flat had caused electrical damage.
At the current time, two crews remain on site and are working with Birmingham City Council electricians to make sure all is safe.
