Police seek injured man after stolen car smashes into metal fence in Rednal street

Police are seeking a man who was injured when the stolen car he was driving smashed into a lamppost and a metal fence in a Rednal street this afternoon (Saturday 16th June).

Luckily no-one else was hurt in the collision on the busy local road.

The car involved, a Citroen C1, was stolen overnight (Friday 15th – Saturday 16th June) from outside a home in Waseley Road in Rubery where residents reported a number of other cars were broken into.

Just before 2pm today, the car exited Shepley Road into Edgewood Road by St Stephen’s Church, smashing into a lamppost and a metal fence edging the playing fields of Rednal Hill Infant and Junior Schools.

A man, who appeared to be injured, was seen to exit the car and made off up Shepley Road.

The man was described as white, with a bald or shaven head and wearing a blue tracksuit. It is believed he may have entered a property in the area.

The car was recovered
