Police investigate armed robbery at Alvechurch store

West Mercia Police is appealing for information following an armed robbery in a supermarket on The Square, Alvechurch on Sunday (1 July).

At around 10.45pm, it is reported that four males entered the premises whilst holding bladed objects, and stole money and cigarettes.

The suspects are described as four males, of average height and average build. They were wearing masks (one with a skull on it), gloves and dark clothing, and one suspect was believed to be wearing a blue jacket with a white stripe down the side.

Investigating officers are following a number of lines of enquiry in order to identify those involved and would like to hear from anyone that may have been in the area at the time of the incident.

DI Gerry Smith from West Mercia Police said: “We would like to hear from anyone in the area at the time who saw anyone acting suspiciously in The Square, Alvechurch.

“I would also urge anyone who knows who is responsible to please come forward. You can speak to the police directly or remain anonymous by contacting Crimestoppers.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 835S of 1 July 2018.
