Shoppers on Harborne High Street were shocked this morning as armed thieves staged a raid on a jeweller’s shop in broad daylight (Thursday 12th July).
The raid happened at around 11am when three men rammed into the shop’s windows in a black Audi, stealing goods.
It seems the thieves failed to access the main store where staff remained safe and uninjured.
During the raid, footage from a passerby appears to show a man brandishing a machete.
The car was left at the scene by the robbers who ran off. An axe was also recovered by police.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police confirmed: “It is believed three men, thought to be armed with weapons, ram raided the shop, taking a goods from the store. They ran off, leaving the car behind. No-one is thought to be injured.”
