A man was arrested yesterday after threatening supermarket staff with a machete during a robbery on Sunday (19th August).
West Midlands Police confirmed they were called to Asda in Barnes Hill at around 4.30pm on Monday 20th August after reported sightings of a man involved in an incident at the store on the previous day.
The man had reportedly threatened staff with a machete during a robbery on Sunday. Thankfully, no-one was injured in the incident but the man made off with electronic items.
Officers, including armed response officers and a National Police Air Support helicopter, flooded the area around Barnes Hill and Alwold Road after the reported sightings on Monday.
After a search, a 37 year old man was arrested on suspicion of robbery and a number of weapons were recovered by police. The man remains in custody today (21st August) on suspicion of robbery.
