West Midlands Police officers investigation the death of a teenage motorcyclist in Quinton last weekend, are urging a potential key witness to come forward.
Ellis Haarhoff, 18, died in hospital the morning after his motorbike hit a tree in Wolverhampton Road just before midnight on Sunday (9th September).
Investigating officers are still trying to establish the circumstances of the collision and have released an image of a white van believed to have been in the area at the time. It is thought the van turned into Hagley Road, towards Quinton.
Officers would like to speak to the driver who they believe may have information which could help their investigation.
Pc Mark Crozier, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with the family of Ellis at this devastating time.
“We are determined to find out exactly what occurred in the build up to the bike hitting the tree.
“From our enquiries we understand a white van was in the area at the time and we need the driver to speak to us about what they saw.”
Earlier this week, Ellis’s family paid tribute to their loved one saying: “The love we have for Ellis in our hearts will never fade. He is loved by many and will always be our beautiful boy.”
