Funeral arrangements have now been made for a popular Northfield ice cream man who died last week.
The death of Simon Price, 48, was announced on B31 Voices by his brother Chris on 11th November and hundreds of messages of shock and condolence were left by readers.
Simon was well known locally, having worked in the family business for 28 years, selling ice creams from Selly Oak, through South West Birmingham and up to the Lickey Hills.
Price’s Square in Northfield town centre – where the Price’s ran a kiosk selling ice cream, sandwiches and more –was named after the family.
The funeral

Now we have been sent the details of the arrangements for the funeral.
The funeral will take place on Thursday 30th November 2017. Anyone wishing to show their respects can do so at:
- 11.15-11.45am Price’s Square, Northfield: the hearse will wait in Price’s Square to allow people to pay their respects.
- 12.30-2.30pm The funeral: will take place at George Street Church, Handsworth B19 1NP
- 3.15-3.50pm Sandwell Crematorium: Postcode B71 3SX
Simon’s son Kyrone said: “Please feel free to wear bright colours preferably yellow as it held sentiment to Simon and his loved ones. We hope to see you there.”
