West Midlands Police are appealing for information after a motorcyclist suffered life threatening injuries in a hit and run collision involving a car in Kings Norton yesterday afternoon (Tuesday 9th January).
The accident happened on the A441 Redditch Road close to the junction with Granshaw Close just before 3.30pm.
All emergency services were in attendance.
Now officers want to trace the driver of a BMW Estate – with distinctive roof bars and ladders – after the collision.
Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, from the Collision Investigation Unit at West Midlands Police, said: “The motorcyclist is in a serious condition in hospital and we need the help of the public to assist us in our investigation.

“Whilst the car was displaying the registration HG53 HFJ we know it was on false plates. We believe it may have travelled through different counties and on the motorway network into the West Midlands.
“The car is a BMW Estate and dark in colour; and the roof bars and ladders it was carrying are very distinctive.
“I would ask people to look at these images and see if they recognise the vehicle. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw the estate either before or after the collision, to contact us immediately.
“We have a number of active lines of enquiry and would urge the driver to do the right thing and come forward to explain their side of the story.”
Anyone with information can call the CIU on 101; quoting 1346 of 09/01/18, or email fl_collision_invest@west-midlands.pnn.police.uk
