A long awaited community park on a new development on the border of Northfield and New Frankley should be open by the end of this month.
Work on the park on the Balaam Wood development began in 2013 but residents of the estate are still waiting to be able to use it as it remains fenced off.
But they should not have to wait much longer!
A Birmingham City Council spokesperson said that recent heavy rain had held up the completion of the park and contractors were finishing some final minor work on the site, including on drainage to one of the play areas.
The spokesperson said: “This will need to be finished before we can accept handover of the park, which we anticipate being towards the end of June.”
The 1.3 hectare park will include children’s play areas, a trim trail and a multi-use games area (MUGA). There will also be a wetland area, providing a sustainable approach to water management, as well as delivering an urban habitat which can be used as an educational resource.
